Power consumption: 90 VA nominal, 150 VA maximum; 230 VAC, 50 / 60 Hz

Start-up current: 130 VA and <2 amps

Running current: 130 VA and <2 amps

Note: Inrush currents at time of power up may approach 30A or more for a brief time.

How do I determine sensor voltage output of the 3000MA sensor?

The simplest way is to read the sensor's output on the alpha-numeric display. This output will indicate both polarity and amplitude. The display will indicate the sensor's output in micro amps. The sensor's output is approximately 1 Vdc at 100% O2. This will be approximately 400 micro amps on the display.

To measure the sensor's output at the sensor, the analyzer's cover will need to be removed. To remove the cover, remove seven screws from the rear panel,

Remove six #4 flat hd screws from the sides, and remove three #10 nuts from inside the door (the upper nuts). Note the ground wires attached to the cover while removing the cover.

Note there are two cables attched to the D-sub connector on the side of the sensor. Measure between pins 7 (Gnd) and pin 15 this is the 24V sensor power supply.

Measure between pins 3 (gnd), and 5. This is the sensors output, 1 Vd = 100% O2

How do I start up the 3000MA?

The unit must be level and located in an area which is vibration free. Note this unit is sensitive to temperature changes. Plug it in; it will require an hour to warm up.

- Verify that the user has installed a sample line filter in series with the gas inlet.

- Attach a dry gas source to the analyzer and set the gas flow to 300 900 SCCM

- Note: If a restrictor from the A68729 kit is used, the blue dot restrictor is for the 2-15 psig range; the unmarked restrictor is for 0.4-3 psig range.

- It will take some time for the analyzer to become stable mainly due to moisture.

- After the analyzer has stabilized, supply the zero gas to the analyzer at the same flowrate that sample stream will have. Set the Zero.

- Replace the Zero gas with the Span gas, and Set the Span at the same flow rate.

The analyzer is ready to go. The analyzer stability will improve over the next few days as it dries out. Check calibration once a day for a few days if possible.

In the system menu, when one can check the output level of the sensor itself, what are the units of the numbers displayed?

The number displayed within the system menu checks the input of the sensor. This number is unitless. But when the sensor has 0.0 volts output, it should read 0, and when the sensor has 1.0 volts output, the display should read around 217 +/- 2.

What is the maximum pressure at which the paramagnetic sensor can be run?

250 millibar over atmospheric pressure (1 atm)

The output of my analyzer is unstable. What might be the problem?

The unit, when freshly installed or seeing sample gas for the first time, will take several days to warm up and fully stabililze. The unit must burn off trace moisture from the ambient air and you will see a steady drift until this moisture is eliminated.

If after several days of service the unit is still unstable, then the problem can be either excessive vibration in the area of installation, or excessive temperature variation. The unit should be installed in a area that has a fairly constant temperature and never above 30C in any event. For temps over 30C, the internal temp control will not work properly.

How does the special software for auto-span delay work?

In the Model 3000MA, we found that the power went off suddenly and after power-up, we couldn't see any readings on the display. Please advise how to fix this.

Check the following:
  • Check the fuse if it is blown
  • Keep the power plug removed. Un screw the back side 4 nos of screws to pull the back end plate. Keep it pulled, so that you can see the back panel PCB.
  • Switch on the Power. If you are able to see the green LEDs on the power adaptor [Black Box], it indicates the power is coming up to this.
  • Switch off the power again. Open the front panel door and look for ribbon cable loose connections in the display board. Remove and plug it again. Switch ON the power and check.
  • Still if you do not get the power "ON" or display. Remove the back panel assy board completely pulled out. Check with Multimeter for 15V and 5 volts supply points near the power adaptor [black box]
  • If you do not get these voltages you need to change the back panel board.
If the voltages are O.K then check for loose connections of ribbon cable on the mother board in the bottom. There are two cables which gets connected to display board.

What happens if the analyzer pipes are blocked and there is no flow? Does the output signal remain fixed displaying the last value?

No we do not believe that to be true. We did a test on a 3010MA which had flowing gas reading 98.82 percent o2. After stopping the flow, right away the reading dropped to 98.01 within 15 minutes.

What happens if the 3010MA analyzer pipes break? Will the analyzer measure atmospheric pressure and present no error?

No there is a change of reading with and without flow. If the customer is very concerned about this they can order the 3000MA with the Valve Box that has a flow switch in it to detect loss of flow.
