Explain the error codes for the MX300.
What is the format of the RS-232 messaging from the MX300?
Concerning the installation of the MX-300, there is a blue "T" in the box. One end goes to the air supply, one end to the sensor. Is the third end open to the atmosphere?
Is the T-adapter reusable?
The blue T-adapter diffuser has a spiderweb obstruction in the tube. The old ones did not have this construction. Can you please tell us why?
Can you tell us the response time of this monitor and/or sensor? Does it take longer to change its displayed reading with a high or low flow of gas?

What is the format of the RS-232 messaging from the MX300?

The MX300 broadcasts RS-232 concentration data with resolution of 0.1% O2 approximately once per second. The baud rate is 2400; there are 7 data bits with odd parity.

Each bit is as follows, in ASCII:

Byte 0: Hundreds digit
Byte 1: Tens digit
Byte 2: Ones digit
Byte 3: Decimal point (0x2E)
Byte 4: Tenths digit
Byte 5: Carriage return (0x0D)
Byte 6: Line feed (0x0A)


For example, a concentration of 78.9% will output as follows:
0x30, 0x37, 0x38, 0x2E, 0x39, 0x0D, 0x0A

Concerning the installation of the MX-300, there is a blue "T" in the box. One end goes to the air supply, one end to the sensor. Is the third end open to the atmosphere?

Yes, this is the T-flow through adapter. The sensor should be vented at atmospheric pressure.

Is the T adapter reusable?

The adapter is not reusable. It is a disposable T adapter made of high density polyethylene.

Teledyne has sold different types of T-adapters in the past. The current blue T-adapter is multipurpose, and the spider-web inside does not effect its use.

Can you tell us the response time of this monitor and/or sensor? Does it take longer to change its displayed reading with a high or low flow of gas?

The response time is determined by the sensor. See the specifications sheet. And yes, an insufficient gas flow will cause a slower response.

What is the maximum flow rate for the MX300 / AX300?

When used with the provided T adapter, we have not been able to identify a maximum limit. We have run the device at up 80 scfh and found no change in concentration due to flow rate.

What is the update rate for these units?

About once per second.

Can you please tell me if the blue T adapter can be autoclaved and if so to what temperature?

The Blue T adapter is not intended for Autoclaving. We do offer an optional version of the T adapter that is autoclave suitable. (part number A274). Your local representative who supplied the units to you should be able to also supply you with the optional T adapter.

Do you know how long the unit might continue to operate when the low battery indicator shows no bars left?

We have no specific data on this condition, but from our limited data we can hypothesize the unit could go for 4 to 5 days in a non-alarm condition.

Yes, the universal mounting clamp for the AX300/MX300 is part number CP2345.
