What is the drift and accuracy of an IR7000T unit at the low end?

The drift specification on the IR7000T is +/-1% full scale. Therefore, on 0-10 ppm CO2, the max drift is +/-0.1 ppm. Autocalibrate once a week.

We also estimate the accuracy on the trace unit as +/-2% full scale or +/- 0.2 ppm CO2.

What is the minimum flow of an IR7000T unit?

Since this analyzer works on the IR absorbtion principle, there is no minimum flow rate. Flow rate only affects response time, not accuracy. This is because the higher the flow, the quicker the volume in the sample cell can reach a steady state level when the concentration changes.

What is the the procedure for adjusting the 4-20 mA output?

The 4-20 signal from the IR7000 analyzers is not adjustable. In the Linear mode, the 4-20 ma output is linear.

How can I look at the raw A to D converter readings?

Push the Mode Button and select Counts / Nonlinear.

When you suspect problems with the unit, it is useful to see and record the counts when you flow zero and span gas. This helps us understand if there may be a problem with the source or the detector.

I was checking the calibration which resulted in an alternating message on the bottom display line-- "systemSTACKalert". What does this mean?

1. While the analyzer is running, press one arrow button, by itself do "Alarm Acknowledge" to clear this message.

2. If the message then returns, perform a power on reset of the analyzer. This is holding down both arrow keys at the same time while turning on the analyzer. This will bring a startup message "Initial Power Up". The instruments memory will have been cleared, so the Cal gas value will have to be re-input. The instrument will also have to be calibrated.

3. If the message then again returns there is a electronics hardware problem. Contact the factory.

How do I cold start this instrument?

Cold start procedures can be found here.

What is an easy way to determine if my unit has a leak from atmosphere into the sample cell?

Stop the sample pump or somehow interrupt the flow through the instrument. The reading may tend to some value and then should be stable. If it is stable on no flow, and unstable with flow, you can assume there is a leak.

What does the "NEED GOOD CAL" message mean?

It is likely that in transport, the instrument lost connection with its back up battery. Zero and span the instrument, and the message will go away.
